PITSCAST.022 – Father Dukes

Father Dukes has come through with a brand new set of grooves to save your soul from eternal damnation! ✝️ This mix is wax only, and the selection is to die for. 🕯️ She has been making her way into the electronic DJ scene here in Detroit over the past couple years, and having her around is always a breath of fresh air. 🌬️ She has also been dabbling in promoting her own parties, working on series entitled Slice at local haunt, PizzaPlex! 🍕 Check her out! 🖤

PTS.018 : Jaco Mattews – No Requests EP

jaco

Jaco Matthews has opened up a can of house and spread liberally. His No Requests EP has 4 tracks of deep, percussion heavy jumpers that are sure to make any dance floor start to shuffle. Finely crafted congas and claps keep you locked in Jaco’s groove until he says no! He is still a relatively new name to Detroit, but he has certainly wasted no time making the rounds and establishing a residency at several venues starting with TV Lounge and now at ye olde Whiskey Disco. These tracks reflect his unique, sexy style; aesthetically as well as sonically.

Early support and premieres from Dance | Discover, Past & Future, Moskalus, as well as Electronic Groove! Thanks so much!

PITSCAST.020 – minimalerror

It’s twentieth edition of our podcast series, and we are excited to share a mix from minimalerror to accompany his release, also dropping on the label this week! Born in Athens and working in Bristol, he has certainly seen his fair share of dance culture. His Bristol EP is reflection of what the place has taught him, and this mix holds true to the vibe of those tracks. With premieres on Past & Future as well as Electronic Groove, there has been a good amount of early support. Check out his other recent release on The Pool House of Chicago!

PITSCAST.019 – TYLR_

It’s a bit of a special edition for our podcast, because our history with the wonderfully, tantalizing force of TYLR_ begins over 5 years ago at the well known Temple Bar on Cass Ave. He and his partner Steven Reaume have consistently been a positive influence in the city, creating the best parties and introducing us to the best new talents!

We have personally benefited from this, having great support from their organization of Norway Detroit when PITS was just an idea, and we had few connections. Flash forward to now, and he is poised to play his debut set at Movement Electronic Music Festival this weekend in Hart Plaza! His set runs from 2-3:30pm on Saturday, the first day of the fest ~

Check him out there and/or for his set at their intimate pre-party titled Anti-Social with Derek Plaslaiko happening on Friday night at the hush hush 😉
