PTS.006 : KidEquip – Love Exposure EP

KidEquip, aka Nick Collier, has crafted two of PITS first explorations into the realm of chill for his first release with us, Love Exposure EP. ‘Crush’ opens to a heavenly pitched vocal sample that would feel to be the beginning of a hand drawn dream sequence. Featuring several elements of his unique style, such as an anime dub rip leading into the second track ‘Attention’, the song takes several twists and turns that keeps one steadily nodding along. The chill cadence of each track makes them perfect for kicking back but could also hold there own on late night dance floors.

PITSCAST.006 – James Jarvis

A purveyor of all things strange, our featured artist certainly knows how to dig deep. A founding member of the local hooligan crew House Coffee Detroit, he has helped grow the project to be a solid group of DJs that share an affinity for plastic and host a super hangout at the famous Urban Bean Co downtown. Began playing there shortly after their re-opening and it has served as their home base. Started with Patrick Brautigan, over the course of the last four years it has snowballed into a major collective now six members strong with regular gigs around the city.

In this mix, he revisits some classics as well as explores more mysterious sonic territory. Enjoy PITSCAST.006 with James Jarvis!

PTS.004 : Twoven

Twoven, aka Matthew Aho, has provided three cerebral delights in the form of Physis EP. The meaning of the words Phos, Physis, and Phronesis tell the story of the sounds. Light gives way to Nature, which in turn gives birth to Wisdom. This truly reflects the place in time and space that we all share, on this planet and in the clubs. The deeper feelings in the first track give way to the relentless bang of Physis, followed by a groovy tech house wrap from Phronesis.

PTS.003 : Ill Fusion

Ill Fusion (aka David Kloosterman) has provided a swirling tune that will slowly drag your mind deeper into the digital world. An avid consumer of early vaporwave and witch house tracks, you can hear these influences mix with a healthy helping of traditional, dark Detroit techno. Working in the North End neighborhoods, Fusion’s experience in the city’s after hours circuit has shaped his sound and one can easily picture this track slamming anxious dancers into a frenzy.
